A wedding dowry blanket used by Indian and Pakistani brides to cover their heads and bodies during a traditional marriage ceremony. This 19th century handwoven phulkari from East Punjab is embroidered with silk darn stitches creating vibrant, alternating patterns. Very good antique condition, some loose stitches, edge frays. Silk and cotton. Dry clean only. 92" x 51"
